I
was born and raised in the Western part of United States. I have lived
in deserts, forests, and cities; and for over 15 years on Maui. As a child I was always artistically inclined. Always content to
be drawing pictures, or sculpting with modeling clay. Today I express through wood sculpture. I enjoy bringing out the
natural beauties that wood can offer. I feel a connection with each piece
as it takes on a life of its own. I find inspiration for my work all around me. The characteristics
of people, the striking impression of wildlife and the grace and flow of
marine life. I like the freedom of abstract carving, with its endless possibilities,
creating shapes that flow and interact with one another. Each piece of work that I create is sacred to me, from its conception
to its finding a home. My hope is that my sculptures can enhance any ones
home, and become a part of their life as it was once part of mine. |
